[verse 1]
I have on my desk an Office Assistant; His name is “Clippit Paper Clip”
He gives me advice that helps me a lot, but is sometimes downright annoying
One day he gives me a piece of advice: “You should never dive into murky waters”
I say, “Thank you very much for the advice, I’m quite sure that I’ll apply it”
Then I leave my room thinking on his words, and how I can apply them
So after thinking on them, quite long and hard, I decide that
[chorus]
I’m gonna trust God, in my daily life
I’m gonna trust God, in everything I do
In every single trial, in every single pain
In every circumstance that I am in
I’m gonna trust God, to work it out for good
I’m gonna trust Him, cause I know, that He knows best
[verse 2]
We struggle on in life, quite on our own, trying to eke out a living
But what we fail to realize is that we can’t dive into waters in which we can’t see
Cause if we dive into murky waters, we’re sure hit our heads, on the rocks of disappointment
But if we trust in God, to be our depth-tester, we’re more likely to survive the dive
[chorus]
I’m gonna trust God, in my daily life
I’m gonna trust God, in everything I do
In every single trial, in every single pain
In every circumstance that I am in
I’m gonna trust God, to work it out for good
I’m gonna trust Him, cause I know, that He knows best
[verse 3]
If we don’t know, the depth of the water, into which we dive so carelessly
We’ll surely get in over our heads in trouble, trouble that can ruin our lives
But God loves us, and He doesn’t want that to happen, no, He wants us to be safe
So with the love of God, and our trust in Him, we can now dive in headfirst
[chorus]
Yes we’re gonna trust God, in our daily lives
We’re gonna trust God, in everything we do
In every single trial, in every single pain
In every circumstance that we are in
We’re gonna trust God, to work it out for good
We’re gonna trust Him, cause we know, that He knows best
[verse 1]
I try so very hard, to fit in with everyone else
To be like all my friends, to have what they have
And when I don’t get what I want, and I get bent out of shape
I need to prioritize, and be thankful
[chorus]
And if I am thankful, with the little that I have
I know that I’ll be blest, with much greater rewards
But for now, I’m going to be thankful
For what God has given me, the abundance that I have
[verse 2]
Coveting is a sin; it says so in God’s Word
Exodus 20:17, “You shall not covet what belongs to your neighbor”
So I need to look at what’s in my heart, examine it closely
I need to come to God, and ask for forgiveness
[chorus]
And if I am thankful, with the little that I have
I know that I’ll be blest, with much greater rewards
But for now, I’m going to be thankful
For what God has given me, the abundance that I have
[verse 3]
For God has blest me, in great abundance:
My friends and family, everyone I know
My home my church, everything I have
But my greatest blessing, is His Son, Jesus Christ
[chorus]
And if I am thankful, with the little that I have
I know that I’ll be blest, with much greater rewards
But for now, I’m going to be thankful
For what God has given me, the abundance that I have
[verse 4]
But if I’m not thankful, God can teach me a lesson
In the blink of an eye, I can lose everything
I can go from living large, to the depths of poverty
And if that were to happen, I’d have nothing at all
But I’m not going to let it happen, I’m going to be thankful
I’m going to show the world, that you can live without everything
[chorus]
And if I am thankful, with the little that I have
I know that I’ll be blest, with much greater rewards
But for now, I’m going to be thankful
For what God has given me, the abundance that I have; the abundance, that I have
[verse 1]
I’m sittin’ at my desk, working on my math
I can’t seem to get this problem; I just can’t figure it out
My sisters are bothering me; I’m losing patience fast
But I know God’s trying to reach me, trying to teach me how to live
[chorus]
And I need to take these trials, and listen to what God says
I need to be refined; I need to be strengthened
These trials will teach me, they’ll teach me how to live
I want them to teach me, I want to be like Christ
[verse 2]
I’m mowing my front lawn, when my mower runs out of gas
In utter frustration, I kick and swear and dance
Then I stop myself, and drop down to my knees
“Lord help me to live, to live as Jesus would”
[chorus]
[verse 3]
I’m sittin in my church, and my mind is wandering off
Thinking about my troubles, trying to think up plans
I know I need to trust God, but it gets so very hard
I need to put my faith, in the One who has control
[chorus]
[verse 4]
I’m losing all my rounds, in my Speech and Debate club
I’m getting quite discouraged; I don’t know what to do
I know there’s a lesson in this, I just need to figure it out
I need to take defeat, and use it to strengthen me
[chorus]
[verse 5]
Yes God will make a way, He will and always has
So I’ll put my trust in him, and live like Christ would live
[chorus] (repeat twice)
Yes I’m going to take these trials, and listen to what God says
I’m gonna be refined; I’m gonna be strengthened
These trials are gonna teach me, they’re gonna teach me how to live
I’m going to let them teach me, I’m gonna be like Christ
Yes I’m gonna be like Christ
Yes I’m gonna be like Christ
Yes I’m gonna be, like Christ
I have 4 more that I'll post later.
