after some one graduates they throw a party sort of thing and you send out invitations to lots of people, what makes them different from most other parties is you just sort of drift in and out, their is a defiant time it starts and stops but people come and go as they please within the start-stop time, that and they are required(well maybe not required but they all do) to have some sort of punch (you can't be too sure what is in them but they can be very good)

I've been to one, I think, and I might host one for myself when I graduate. ;D

So what do you do at one?

Well aside from the ever popular eating it varies greatly from open house to open house. Their are two main basic things: you stand around socializing (eating all the time of course), or you run around (one had a volley ball net up another had huge water balloon battles etc.) typically they have a mix of these two mostly depending on the individual family mentality (the one hosting it) and/or the location. I was at one that was almost totally socializing but usually they have elements of both so that the adults can stand around and socialize and the kids (often times including the graduate) can run around.
