It looks amazing! Jim Caviezel was great in "the Count of Monte Christo". It dosen't come out until Feb 25th, Ash Wednesday, so I'll probably see it over the week end. If anyone wants to do a group thing let me know.

It is an accurate representation of the last 12 hours of jesus's life. It has a Christian (anyone who believes in the new testement) slant.

wow!!!!!!! today i was at play practice, and my friend Nick had seen the Passion the other day. I don't know if he's really a christian, he's kind of a typical cool dude sans religion if you know what i mean. But anyway, i asked him how it was, and he turned to me and said, " Don't make me tell you, I'll probably start crying." wow!!! I can't believe what an impact the movie had on him. I have my own opinions about the movie....(even though i haven't seen it ) but i'm soooooo happy at how it's affecting non christians.

I guess you could call it Roman Catholic slanted if you wanted to. (Not that I'd consider that a bad thing ) It's a powerful movie, and I would recomend any christian watch it. (Well, any Christian over a certain age. It leaves nothing to the imagination.)

I saw this movie the day it came out. Wow, what a powerful movie.
First off, the adding the supernatural asspect of the film in a very visual way was well done. It was very artistic I might add. The first and probably the most powerful part was the personification of Satan. Albeit, the actor who plays the part of Satan is a she, that really has no true bearing on the effect of the character. Having Satan appear in the crowd scenes and right there talking to Christ, I thought was just really well done. I thought some of his lines were really good too. The attempt to make Christ doubt whether it was wroth it or not for Him to come and die for man kind was very effective. "It's to costly to save their souls... it's not worth it... Never. No one. Ever."
One particular scene brought tears to my eyes. Jesus, in the midts of all His sufferings is still focused on the goal. He is still focused on why He is here--His mission. As he is bearing his cross, he falls under the weight of it, when his mother runs to him, he turns to her and says, "Behold, mother, I make all things new!" He was there to fulfill the prophocey, to conquer death, to bring salvation to man kind. In some ways He had come to do away with the old bring in the new. The new way unto God. Through His son, Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:21 says that if righteousness or perfection could be obtained by doing good, then Jesus died for nothing. No, Jesus came and bore that cross for our sins. Because there was no way, there was no hope for man kind. God went out of His way to pay OUR debt. And think, it was the very payment that HE required! He was appeasing His OWN wrath. He was paying the price that He Himself required. For us. That we could come to know Him.
While watching Mel Gibbson's The Passion of the Christ, I thought of this passage of Scripture: "For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross..." (I Peter 2:21-24)
Maybe not a movie I'd want to see all the time, or buy. But it is definantly a must to see once. To really understand the suffering that Christ went through on the cross. Then, after that, how can we not fall at His feet and call Him SAVIOR?
If only people would stop pointing their fingers at this movie trying to condem it. If only they'd stop and listen, stop and think--just for a moment about the purposeful violence of this movie. If only they'd ask why He died. Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about this generation: "YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND; AND YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE; FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, AND WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES; OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES, AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM."' (Acts 28:26-27 & Matthew 13:14-15)

If only people would stop pointing their fingers at this movie trying to condem it. I can understand why this has become such a controversial issue between Christians. Don't blame them. After all, there are things in the movie that aren't biblically accurate (or so people who have seen it have told me) and since this movie is SUCH A BIG DEAL, it must be hard for many christians to see wrong and/or Roman Catholic things portrayed to the world as Christianity. Some people definately take it way too far and completely condemn the movie--acting like it's from Satan. But if Satan's at work here, I don't think he's using the inaccurate whatever's in the movie as his weapon, I think he's using the division among Christians. We are so divided on this, don't you think we should present a united front to the world? After all, this is OUR religion. This is what we live and maybe even die for. My goodness, I am so tired. I hope I made a little sense.......... *Tori ps-- i'm not talking about the people in CHARGE, we don't really seem to have different opinions on the Passion, I'm just giving my probably un-needed opinion on people everywhere. *sings* "all we are saying is give peace a chance!"

Uuum, two things.
a: wrong and/or Roman Catholic? So it can be Catholic but not wrong, but not right?
b: Roman Catholics ARE Christians.
