Because I enjoy hypotheticals and have too much time on my hands, I often pit superheros who would have no reason to fight eachother againt one another in imaginary deathmatches. I was wondering if anyone else here was willing to waste as much time as I do and wiegh in.
Here are a few of my favorites:
Batman vs. Superman. Batman all the way. Superman is mostly invincible, but batman would never botch the use of kryptonite the way all Superman's enemies seem to.
Spiderman v. Batman Closer, but I'm going to have to go with spiderman. Both of them are adept at finding weaknesses in their opponents, and batman isn't the kind of guy to be flustered by spiderman's heckling, but spidey can climb walls and shoot webs, whereas batman is more severely limited were the fight to move anywhere to small for one of his vehicles.
George Washington v. Abraham Lincoln. Not technically superheroes, but interesting nonetheless. I'm definitely favoring Abe here. George is a general, but Abe has longer arms, and he beat Americans, while George won only against the british and lost to the french.
Any differeing opinions? Other interesting hypothetical grudge matches? Comments about the pointlessness of this thread?

I am not too sure about my American history, but I was under the impression that George Washington (although a great man) wasnt a great general. Historically he lost a huge majority of his battles in the Revolutionary War.
Abe was a good wrestler, and if anyone has been to Salem IL, and heard the take of Abe and (Jack? something?) and the wrestling contest, they will be able to recount the story better than I.

Yes, but Lincoln had a rail splitter.

Yes, but Lincoln had a rail splitter. I think that pretty well settles that. Next: Lord of the Rings, since most of us here are probably at least reletively familiar with it. The Hulk v. Legolas Anyone who's seen the Hulk movie knows that the jolly green giant is pretty much invincible, but then, Legolas has a pretty good track record with huge angry creatures, so I'm not sure. Legolas v. Boromir. I'm liking Boromir here. Legolas is a good shot, but Boromir's got a shield. Pacman v. the ghosts from RoTK I'm thinking Pacman, but this could go either way, as there are a whole lot of ghosts and Pac's on a time limit.

Legolas v. Boromir. I'm liking Boromir here. Legolas is a good shot, but Boromir's got a shield. It also takes many arrows to completely kill Boromir.

Legolas v. Boromir. I'm liking Boromir here. Legolas is a good shot, but Boromir's got a shield. Boromir dies first, though, you might have noticed. How about Aragorn vs. Darth Maul? I have to go with Aragorn but of course I don't exactly know how a fight with one contestant having a lightsaber and the other a sword would turn out. Would a lightsaber and a sword really have much affect on each other? Whaddaya think? How about Jack Sparrow vs. Legolas? I don't really have an answer to that one but I like Jack better.

What about Legolas against Will Turner? Would that even be possible?

Legolas is more long-range, and Will doesn't have a shield. Also, Legolas thinks pretty fast- see elephant episode in ROTK. Will, on the other hand, would probably do something... stupid.

What about Legolas against Will Turner? Would that even be possible? Are you kidding? Legolas would completely destroy Will, hands down. It would be funny to watch though... ;D John Kerry vs. George W. Bush. Tough one, but I'd have to say Kerry. Dubya's world is too stressed right now to be challenged by a war veteren. Matt Beifuss vs. George W. Bush. My money's on Dubya.

Matt Beifuss vs. George W. Bush. My money's on Dubya. WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?! Every person in this club (or any other speech and debate club in the country for that matter) is infinitely superior to Bush. Period.

Matt Beifuss vs. George W. Bush. My money's on Dubya. Mine too if I were a gambler. I’ve heard that Bush works out.
