Who won? (too bad you didn't post that like, say, 24 hours ago? ) Remember that year when it went into 12 innings but it still was a Tie? Who won? Why, the AL, who else? Roger Clemens gave up six runs in the first inning (hence Jason's comment about the first inning) and it was the first inning ever in the All-Star game when a team hit for the cycle in one inning. And Alfonso Soriano from the Rangers was the MVP of the game, which was pretty obvious, him going 2-for-2 with that three-run homer and all. Say, how much to people who chear for the Cubs/WHite Sox hate the other team? So, if you like the White Sox, do you hope the Cubs lose or Visa-Versa? I like them both, but the Cubs much better. I want the Cubs to win, but I would be happy if the Sox did really well too. Funny, me too. The Cubs are my second favorite team just because they are from Chicago, but I like the White Sox MUCH better.

*Sigh* so the Sox will have home advantage in the Cubs vs. Sox World Series, tragic! Although they both kind of are from the same city ! Does anyone know both team's standings?

The Sox are in first with a .535 win percentage and Minnesota half a game back. The Cubs are in second with a .539 win percentage and are 8 games back of St. Louis. More tragic White Sox news. The Big Hurt has a big hurt and will be out for eight weeks with a stress fracture in his left foot.

Ok thanks! If ever there was a year where it looks like their is a 0.01% chance of an all-Chicago World Series it is this year!

Ok thanks! If ever there was a year where it looks like their is a 0.01% chance of an all-Chicago World Series it is this year! Really, how come? It seems to me that this is a very good year for both teams to go to the World Series. I mean the White Sox, in my opinion have a 95% chance of beating the Twins, so they'll probably get into the playoffs. If they have to play Oakland along the way then forget it, but otherwise the White Sox have overall dominated the more difficult teams of the leagues. The Cubs may not win the NL Central with the Cardinals so far away, but they will probably win the Wild Card. If they do win the Wild Card, their team will probably be rejuvinated (sp?) and do a little better than usual. They'll zoom through all the division games and catch up to the top teams in the nation, kind of like the Marlins last year. 0.01% chance? I think not.

Didn't they already play against Oakland and lost? OK, so the chances that one will make it to the playoffs are pretty good, but they become significantly less when you say both teams. Then odds are one in four that both teams will advance one level in playoffs and then even less so fourth until the World Series. That's the %0.01 chance I don't think the media would like it though! Not to many people outside Chicago would care to much

Currently, the White Sox are 2 for their last 18 or so in Oakland. And yes, they did drop three of four in Oakland although it really didn't matter because the Twins at that time also dropped three of four against, get this, Kansas City. Even with the four teams in the division playoffs, and then the two teams that follow, it still wouldn't be 0.01% of a chance. If the White Sox are in the playoffs with four other teams, they have a 25% chance of getting to the World Series. The Cubs would most likely represent the Wild Card right now, giving them a 25% chance. The both combine for 2/8 or 25%, so there is a 25% chance of them playing each other in the World Series. Significantly higher than 0.01% if you follow my train of thought. An all-Chicago World Series? The media would hurl. ;D Did any Sox fans watch the game last night? Did anybody see the game? It sounded really cool, that is if you're a Sox fan. I have a friend who's an Indians fan and boy, he hated the outcome of that game.

(pardon my optimism) I hear though that last year many people from outside Chicago watched the playoffs because they had once been in Chicago, so maybe the media wouldn't actually do to badly... That would be interesting! I wonder which station would gets the games! Probably depends on what stadium they are at.

It was quite funny! I decided to temporarily become a a White Sox fan when they played against the Red Sox when I was in Maine!
And of course, In Maine, everyone there is a Red Sox fan, so I got to tease and tease my cousins as CHICAGO beat their favorite team!
My cousins even convinced my sisters that the Red Sox had won, but I wasn't so easily convincedd. I checked the paper, and either it was a different game of the series or they were pulling my sisters' legs, but Chicago had won 8-7!
It was pretty easy whenever someone stopped by to ask who was winning to simply reply "The Sox."

He is going to be taking some classes from Regina Coeli Acadamy this year and he took an orientation class to learn all the internet lingo. They had to post a topic on the Regina Coeli thread, and my brother's was, "The Braves are the best baseball team." To make a long story short, his teacher said the Red Sox were the best, and that night the White Sox were playing the Red Sox. So my brother rooted for the White Sox and they did beat the Red Sox 8-7. They also lost 4-3 and won 5-4. Thanks for the extra cheering, they won because of it.

I got to gloat last year. I guess this year I'll get my chance to gloat in the NLCS- no sooner.
