Whee! Go Scotland and Germany! And Ireland and Sicily too. I have an ancestor from the Mayflower too, I don't remember her name, but she was William Brewster's sister. I'm also descended from John Hawkins, Francis' Drake's lesser known older cousin, and the one who taught him how to handle a ship, and thing or two about being a pirate. (Though Hawkins wasn't a full time privateer himself. He was an even less respectable merchant in the slave trade.)

interestin, Matt!
I have a Briggadier General, Bernard Gaines Farrar, who fought for the Union in the western Civil War as an uncle.
Oh, Have you ever heard of a guy called John Rogers? He's a grandpa somewhere back, and he was burned at the stake for his religious convictions in Scotland somewhere. I don't know much about him.
Oh, Matt, we can all trace back to Royalty? I thought it was nobility, not royalty. Anyway, I'm distantly related to the English Royal family....don't ask me how!
Muhamed?!??!!??!?! I am not arab at all! How does that work? I'm German, English, Irish, Scottish, Dutch, French, Swiss, Luxumburgi, and maybe Jewish, and I'm finding more nationalities all the time!
Mayflower...that was 1620? some of my ancestors came over in 1608!

If you can trace yourself back to english nobility, you can trace yourself back to royalty, too. This is due to fact that there can (generally) be only one king or queen at any one time, but there can be several children. The Children that don't inherit the throne become top-tier nobility, and marry other top nobles. The children of these nobles who don't inherit the position their parents held marry lesser nobles, and on down, till after several generations, you have poor gentry with nothing to their name but a distant relationship with the current king. (or queen) These people move to the new world, class distinctions dissappear after a time, and their children marry into all sorts of other families. Due to the fact that in times gone by marraiges were used to seal alliances and such, as well as the fact that royalty prefers to marry royalty, all Europe's royal families are (or were) related. (King George the III was mostly German, for instance.) So if you're say, French, you can trace your bloodline to French royalty, which means you can trace it back to English Royalty.
That's what YOU think. Owing to the fact that you can trace at least one line of your heritage back to English royalty, you can trace it back to Mohammed, as well as Charlemange and Charles Martel. One of Mohammed's descendents through his Daughter Fatima was the Caliph of either Morocco or Toledo, or something like that (I'm a bit hazy on the details.) One of the daughters of the Caliph converted to Christianity and married a spanish monarch. One of the children of this marriage married into, you guessed it, English Royalty.
We're all a little Arab.
